Vehicles: California governor confirms Mercedes to join GHG deal

California Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) is confirming reports that Mercedes-Benz is poised to join a voluntary agreement between Golden State regulators and four major auto companies on greenhouse gas standards for passenger vehicles, and that state officials are in discussions with another “major” automaker to join.
