Congress: California Democrats float aggressive climate, energy bill

Two House Democrats from California are introducing legislation that would set steep greenhouse gas reduction requirements alongside aggressive renewable and energy efficiency mandates, measures that largely tracks with a key plank of the “Green New Deal” that progressive environmental groups are pushing.
